Poor quality

"I see I am not the only one who had a bad experience with these. Like others the plates developed a rainbow effect after only a couple washings. Mikasa did replace those after sending photos of them but the same thing happened to the replacements and the rest of the set eventually. I became concerned that they weren’t safe to eat from. So I stopped using them and replaced them with tried and true Corelle white. I am so disappointed and surprised as I’ve had my Just Flowers set of Mikasa dishes for decades and they are perfect. but I don’t use them for everyday meals. When I was ready for a new set of everyday dishes and found these Mikasa at a good price point I thought I couldn’t go wrong. That was a big mistake. I don’t know if Mikasa in general has gone downhill or if you just have to stay away from their lower cost dishes."

"These dishes are beautiful and simple. They’re not a bright, pure white, but rather a true bone china off-white. I absolutely love these dishes. Their thin, delicate feel is just perfect. They have been through the dishwasher numerous times. No marks or stains."

Beautifully simple

"These dishes were a Christmas gift for my husband and me. I waited a couple of months to see how they held up, especially in the dishwasher, and I’m happy to say they don’t show any markings at all. They’re absolutely beautiful—thin and seemingly delicate, yet surprisingly strong. I love their simplicity, and they pair well with everything. The color is more of an off-white than a true white, which makes them even more lovely."

"This is my second attempt to post a review here. My Delray dishes developed a hazy rainbow effect. After much back-and- forth sending of pictures of each item, they agreed to replace the plates. Same thing has happened again. Very disappointed. These might be OK if not used in a dishwasher or microwave."

"The first meal I had on the new plate (arugula with a lemon and olive oil dressing) stained the plate. It now has a rainbow color stain across it."

Excellent customer service.

"I first purchased this set through Amazon after reading a good review on Wirecutter (NYTimes reviews). A couple of plates arrived chipped and I reached out to Mikasa as I did not want to replace the whole set via Amazon. Surprisingly, they replaced the items at no charge which was completely unexpected. Now, a year later, the quality of the finish is problematic, as some reviewers have noted. The customer svc. team is replacing 4 streaked dinner plates as a one time courtesy. They have gone above and beyond to make things right. They told me that the Lucerne style is almost identical to the Delray and I saw that they have much better reviews. I purchased some bread and butter plates, so we’ll see."

Dissatisfied!

"Unhappy! Very nice when I received them, but after a few weeks, the glaze started to get dull and streaky and then some staining because of that. I have a good dishwasher. I use Cascade detergent. They allowed me to send back 6 bowls, and they replaced them. The same thing is happening to these! Don’t know what to do now. A waste of money! They are not inexpensive, and I trusted Mikasa:("

Excellent customer service.

"I purchased this collection from Amazon after reading a review on Wirecutter. A couple of pieces arrived with a small chip. I reached out to Mikasa on the remote chance that they would replace the 2 pieces. They did! Now, a year later, 4 plates have streaks. I think they are cracked and stains got in. This does not bode well for the longevity of the set, but Mikasa is replacing the 4 plates as a one time courtesy. After a year!!! I am beyond impressed with their customer service. If you have an issue with a product, and have not reached out to them, I urge you to do so."

An Absolute Must Have

"This dining set is very classic and elegant. It is perfect for everyday use and when entertaining guests. With the set being simple and elegant in its white appearance, you no longer have to worry about matching your kitchen/dining decor or colors, because it goes with everything. The dishes are large in size, leaving plenty of room for food, which pop on the plate making it appear more appetizing. Bone china is also safer to eat on and being a healthier choice. While not completely break-proof, they can withstand quite a bit of use. This set, for the price and number of pieces, is an absolute bargain that is well worth the investment. I would definitely recommend this attractive and function set to others."
